Oriental Nights - Southampton

An excellent experience every time we come here. They are so welcoming and the service is so good. Then there is the food which is outstanding, and being from Hong Kong and picky in what we eat, this restaurant exceeds our expectations every time with authentic, delicious Cantonese cuisine dishes that delight us. This has got to be the best Chinese/Cantonese restaurant in the UK. Every meal we have is compared to the meal we had in Oriental Nights. This is our second visit here, while visiting our son, Jonny. The food is spectacular and the service is so warm and friendly. The food is stunning and is great value for money. Love the service Kin and Mitty provide and honestly can't wait to come back. Such a wonderful meal!

This wonderful small restaurant serves delicious Cantonese cuisine and offers very friendly and efficient service. Kin and Miffy are in charge of cooking and serving the food. I recently organized a dinner for 16 friends here to celebrate a birthday, and everyone had a fantastic time. The food was varied and tasty, the service was outstanding, and all the guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves. My wife and I had visited the restaurant for both lunch and dinner before, and we were impressed by the prompt and hospitable service, as well as the quality of the dishes. When I spoke to Miffy and Kin about arranging the birthday dinner, they were incredibly helpful, eager to discuss the menu in detail, and took into consideration dietary and allergy restrictions. Everything went smoothly, and we all had a great evening. We are looking forward to visiting this restaurant again in the future.

This place is a hidden gem! Normally we would go to one of the more well-known restaurants in Southampton, but after seeing a comment on Facebook, we decided to give this place a try. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and given menus with a variety of delicious options. We ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken, Chicken Satay, Capital Ribs, and rice. Everything was perfect, especially the ribs which were the best I've had since Pearl Harbor. Not to mention, the prices were much more affordable compared to Shanghai 1814. Definitely worth a visit, you won't be let down.

Please disregard any negative reviews prior to 2021 as the restaurant was previously a Japanese establishment. This family-run restaurant now serves delicious and authentic Cantonese cuisine. My girlfriend and I loved their Cantonese roasted duck with bones, which we found to be the best in the southern region. The duck had crispy skin, tender meat, and lacked the strong "earthy" and "gamy" taste often found in other Chinese restaurants. The owner, who also serves as the waitress, was incredibly friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant and suggest calling ahead for availability to avoid any potential disappointment.
