Always like this place. Good beer rotations and special cocktails. Food is delicious!
First meal on our trip to the USA and it didn’t disappoint! Loved the crispy nachos. Soft tacos were nice and fluffy. Side dishes portions were a bit too large but guess we have to get used to the portion sizes in the USA! Lovely beer menu also. Amazing service.
A Tale of Two Experiences at El Barrio Cantina Tequila Bar Dining at El Barrio Cantina Tequila Bar is much like embarking on a culinary rollercoaster – you're never quite sure if you're in for the thrilling highs or the unexpected lows. This place encapsulates a duality that leaves my taste buds in a state of suspense every time I decide to pay them a visit. On the one hand, their margaritas are a showstopper – perfectly blended, with a symphony of flavors that are sure to elevate your spirits. Tyler is a master behind the bar. The beer drink menu is a testament to the bar's commitment to quality and festivity, which is mirrored by the vibrant and electric ambiance. The decor is lively, and the staff contributes positively to the energetic atmosphere with their attentive and friendly service. However, on the flip side, the inconsistency in their food offerings is a puzzle. It's a real gamble; sometimes the dishes are bursting with the authentic flavors that would make any Mexican cuisine aficionado nod in approval. Yet, other times, I'm met with disappointment that leaves me craving more. The most surprising misstep is their queso – a dish that should be a staple in any Mexican restaurant's repertoire. As someone who often enjoys making queso at home, I find theirs to be the worst rendition I've encountered. It's a basic dish that, unfortunately, has been consistently underwhelming and begs for improvement. Literally all Bechamel, no cheese flavor! For El Barrio Cantina Tequila Bar, the contrast between their fantastic margaritas and the occasional letdown in the kitchen suggests a potential that is yet to be fully realized. The establishment has all the ingredients for a thriving hotspot: good service and an awesome ambiance. However, it's the culinary inconsistency that has become their Achilles' heel. I believe wholeheartedly that with a bit more attention to culinary detail and consistency, El Barrio could again become a go-to spot that patrons would return to with confidence. Until then, the experience will remain unpredictable. And while some may enjoy the surprise, for others, it may deter them from another visit, which could eventually reflect more starkly in future reviews.
I love this place absolutely. every time I come, it's a 10/10. the frozen strawberry margaritas are my drink. my friend and I can't get enough of the chicken Emanadas, we get them every time! I would recommend 100% to eat here.
