Riverside Tavern - SOUTH WEST ROCKS

The service and food at this restaurant were both terrible. Our meals were brought out to the table at different times, with up to 1.5 hours between the first meal and the last one we received. We had to keep asking where our meals were, and two meals were completely forgotten. Additionally, two of the meals were burnt, but when we mentioned it to the manager, they became upset and claimed it was just the herbs we were tasting. After 2.5 hours, only half of our party had eaten, so the rest of us received a refund and left hungry.

Excellent t bone and fish meals. Veg fresh. Service very good. Only draw back was the 4km walk but well worth it. Goood selection wine

Very busy so can wait a while for drinks and especially food, up to 2 hours on Sat nights! Good selection of everything re food and drinks.

Terrible don't waste your money, how hard is it to get a decent chef this place could be a gold mine. Tried it won't come back such a waste of a beautiful position

Came to the Riverside for a relaxing quiet lunch. The meals are not consistently good (they really struggle to put anything but a limp and overdressed salad on the plate) but its a great location.Gosh today was diabolical. Could have been at a Sydney nightclub such was the volume of the awful noise emitting from the speakers. I wasnt of course. The screaming and yelling coming from the childrens game room proved otherwise. Is it neally necessary to have this area located so close to eating and the main bar areas?To top it off the barman was dressed in thongs and board shorts. Not a good look and probably thongs dont meet WHS regs but thats the care factor. Minors at the bar ...is anyone policing this? Great location but if you cant hold a conversation over lunch and you leave more stressed than you arrived whats the point?
