Bidra med feedbackI had a wonderful experience at this charming café. The coffee was excellent and the bacon sandwich was perfect. The staff made me feel very welcome and the atmosphere was friendly. I will definitely be returning.
Today was my first visit to this restaurant, but it certainly won't be my last. I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, and enjoyed a piping hot cup of tea along with an excellent bacon sandwich cooked just the way I like it.
I can only provide an honest review. The restaurant was dirty, the food was of very poor quality, and the service was terrible. It took 40 minutes for our food to arrive, with my husband's breakfast coming first and mine arriving 15 minutes later. His breakfast was cheap, greasy, and unpleasant. I ordered a cheese toastie, but instead received 2 pieces of hard, burnt toast with cheese spread instead of real cheese. When I complained, the staff did not care. I will not be returning to this restaurant and I do not recommend it.
I had breakfast here twice and each time the food was well cooked great value for money. Service was top rate, friendly and helpful. Good, honest food for all, if you are need to eat, drink or take a break then this is the place to stop. On-street parking is available all around.
After being stuck on M6 for 2 1/2 hrs between junction 16 and 15 because of a 2 lorry accident, followed by a long stretch of crawling traffic because of roadworks which then prevented us leaving the M6 at J 14, we were desperate for a quick stop off for refreshments and toilet break, so left the motorway at the next junction and came across this cafe in Penkridge. The name made us think it would be cosy and welcoming. Sadly we were disappointed to find that despite government guidelines there was no social distancing of tables or screens, but at time of entry there were no other customers, so as we were desperate we went in. No Test and Trace details asked for. The toilet had no sanitiser or hand towels. Owner/only staff member present was not wearing mask and did not keep 2m distance. We were not reassured in any way in regard to Covid hygiene. We ordered drinks and a sausage/bacon sandwich each as we still had 2 hour plus journey ahead so needed refreshments. We were concerned but decided to stick it out. I was armed with own Dettol wipes which I used on the table, and we sanitised our hands before touching the crockery etc. The cafe was not taking part in the government 50% off scheme, which I realise is optional, but why not? (It was a Monday) We left as soon as we finished our refreshments, again sanitising our hands once outside. I enjoy giving good reviews and are sad not to be able to do so in this instance. Sorry, but because of the current Covid situation we cannot recommend this cafe.
