Bidra med feedbackThis fast food restaurant is affordable and cheerful, making it a perfect spot for a quick bite before or after visiting the museum. The pies are definitely the top choice on the menu.
After a visit to the museum, I decided to try out the restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately, the staff seemed disinterested and the food quality was lacking, especially given the high prices. The soup was served cold, the pastries were stale, and the limited staff caused a long line at the checkout, further cooling down the food. I overheard another customer complaining about their cold meal, and the staff simply microwaved it without addressing the underlying issue. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and one that I would suggest skipping. It seems that this is a common theme based on previous reviews, and while the restaurant is not directly affiliated with the museum, it does reflect poorly on the overall experience.
A very nice facility serving good hot and cold food and beverages. Broad selection of meals on offer the day we visited. Reasonably pricing. Polite, friendly and helpful staff.
Two of us rode our motorcycles here from Alton in Hampshire. Decided to not stop en-route for our lunch foolishly thinking that the Swordfrish cafe would be of the same excellent quality as the museum itself! How wrong we were. It reminds you of the 70s Wimpey style restaurants; no flavour, no variety and chips with just about everything! The cold drinks cabinet wasn't cold so all drinks were lukewarm only! I'm sure if the cafe had been run along the same lines as the excellent one at Portsmouth Dockyard then I would be telling a different story! Basically avoid the cafe if you don't have children and find a decent pub nearby instead!
We had lunch here after visiting the museum. Service was pleasant, plenty of choice, good sized portions and great value. A refreshing change from a captive audience restaurant!
