The Cherry Tree - South Norfolk

Our children have wanted to go here for ages after driving past on the way to school. Today was finally the day and the experience was brilliant. Both the food and the service were of a very high standard. It was lovely to visit somewhere with such friendly staff, including a couple of young new starters who must have been nervous but who were still brilliant. Will definitely visit again.

I was lucky enough to win Sunday lunch for 4 with wine. After reading some negative reviews, I was hesitant, but since it was free, we decided to give it a try. To our surprise, it turned out to be the best roast dinner I've had in a long time. The selection of vegetables on my plate was excellent - perfectly cooked sprouts, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, red cabbage, mashed swede, mashed potatoes, and roast potatoes. The Yorkshire pudding was huge and the gravy was delicious. It felt like a homemade roast dinner. The meat was fantastic and the serving size was generous. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, even offering us extra gravy. Don't let the negative reviews sway you, try it for yourself. We couldn't find any faults with it. Even though it was free, I would happily pay the usual price of £10 for it.

Went at 7.30 on a sunday. Had searched their entire website for times of service and found nothing, only that they were open until 23.00. When we arrived we went to a table and after a few minutes were approached and told that they stop serving at 5pm. When I asked why there was nothing on their website saying this, he just shrugged and said he didn't know. If we had known this we would have gone somewhere else, instead of wasting time going there, and might have arrived before they finished serving as well! A nightmare evening, all because they couldn't be bothered to put something simple on their bells and whistles website like when they finish serving!

Allowed us to buy drinks and watched us read menus. Then told us when we went to order they weren’t serving food. One person said limited menu, other said nothing on offer except desserts! No signs to warn you, no communication. Just taking your money
