Bidra med feedbackI visited this pub by the water on one of the most windy and wet nights in the Broads and we were very happy to have. From the outside, I must say that it seems rather unloved, but the people there were very cozy and the food was charming home style (especially recommending potato skins and the magnificent meat and beer cake). And you certainly get a lot: the portions are definitely great, so get ready! We liked the food so much that we came back for a second night party at the end of the holidays.
There are many pubs on the water banks along the Broads, the most elegant, serving good food. This pub seems a little unloved, clearly needs some work. . . . but we were tired and we just wanted to moor in a quiet place.A warm welcome from the new manager, and we could moor during the night for free. We ordered a couple of cold beers to drink and enjoy, but also a couple of lime and soda paints to throw quickly first when we were in the red alive and dehydrated. The manager said he doesn't charge for them, they're just water and cordial, so in the house! What a great attitude.Your new menu seemed delicious, and your special homemade burgers were suggested. The preparation of the meals took about an hour, and we started to starve. But my God, was it worth waiting? The burgers were juicy, fresh, just exceptional. My fillet with pepper sauce was so good that even when it was full it was still eating! Big size of the portions. The desserts were lovely, too. It turned out to be the best food we ate in the Norfolk Broads that holiday week.Clearly, this pub needs a little FTA. They need their business to do that. I can't urge you enough to see for yourself how good the new staff is. You won't be disappointed in food.
The food was excellent, especially the mixed grill which was huge. The music was amazing and suited our taste perfectly. We had a great time and it made our last night of vacation extra special. The staff were very friendly and it was the perfect way to end an incredible week. Thank you.
I did one of our favorite walks a couple of weeks ago and I was hoping to find the pub closed like the last time. I am very happy to see it work again as it is in such an excellent location. We just stopped for a drink and enjoyed the excellent views located on the river terrace. We were told that the pub had reopened about 5/6 weeks ago and that it had a different manager. The manager said they'd be open 7 days a week all year. They also make food and have mooring for river traffic. We wish you the best and we are eager to visit again the next time we walk that way, even in winter! Good luck.
Unfortunately, when we visited today (March 30th, 2019) around midday, the restaurant was closed. We were hoping to grab a pint and a snack. The entrance to the river was through a dilapidated arch that looked like it could collapse at any moment. The place was a complete mess, with debris scattered everywhere. It was a terrible sight.
