Cafe Deli - South Lanarkshire

We are from Fife and had never been to Strathaven before, but after dining at Cafe Deli (Alexander Taylor), we have a newfound appreciation for the town! The service was quick, the menu was interesting, and there were plenty of customers. We particularly enjoyed the Armenian Lentil soup, which was superb on a cold winter day, along with some artisan bread from the bakery across the street. We also sampled some delicious tray bakes.

Arrived at Strathaven looking for snack as having dinner later that evening Came across this cafe so went in , good friendly welcome, toasties or soup chosen . Teas and coffee arrived quickly Very helpful waitress All in good experience

I frequently visit this restaurant and always enjoy my experience. The staff is consistently friendly and accommodating. The food is always delicious.

We dropped in late in the afternoon , and the fruit slices were our choice, together with coffee. The cafe features baking by Taylors across the road, and is owned by the same family.The fruit slices were outstanding! Often they are dry in other places, but here the fruit had been soaked and was plump and fruity.Excellent service, and a place to drop into newspapers also available to read.

My husband and I have visited this cozy coffee shop before and have always enjoyed our meals. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I ordered the Bruschetta with Mediterranean vegetables and mozzarella cheese, which was absolutely delicious. My husband opted for the charcuterie platter, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The meats were unique and the fresh bread complemented them perfectly. The prices are very reasonable as well. Additionally, there is a bakery located across the street (both establishments have "Alexander Taylor" above the door) with a wide variety of baked goods. The staff at the bakery is also very friendly, and they often offer samples while you wait. We usually leave with a few treats to enjoy with a cup of tea later on. If you find yourself in Strathaven, be sure to check out these two places - you won't be disappointed!
