The Tavern At Hale - South Lakeland

This hidden gem cannot recommend enough. booked and arrived last minute. welcome and shown in our room by friendly, helpful staff who also wore our bags. room was large, clean and well furnished. the bathroom was very clean and spacious. only problems with the room was that there was no mirror to do hair / makeup. there was one in the bathroom, but was not suitable. the room was located at the front, which meant traffic noise the whole night of hgvs, but bed was exceptionally comfortable and blackout blinds worked well. the atmosphere in the dog-friendly bar was beautiful. the bar staff was great. I talked to many friendly locals. the breakfast was excellent. service was excellent. can't blame the staff. will definitely return.

This was our second stay here in the tavern, hale it was again excellent, eating was great, the newly appointed manager, nathan was so helpful and extremely friendly for all his guests and customers. a fabulous place to stay for a break in the long trip to Scotland. the guest rooms are very nice. there are also some beautiful scenic walks near, must be here.

Really tasty eating and large portion sizes! beautiful staff. looks like it had recently been renovated, very fresh, but also cozy. will definitely visit again when I am in the opposite!

All spot on, smooth check-in, eat very well. the room was very good. only on the bottom was street noise as a bedroom in front of the building. but would not stop us. well used by locals who are good to see.

Popped in for refreshments after a walk around the area. Lovey pub, clean contemporary the lady that served us was really lovely a credit to the business. The cheddar dog biscuits were a big hit went down a treat!
