Bidra med feedbackWarm, cosy atmosphere from both the venue and the staff who were extremely friendly and welcoming. It was busy when we came in but the staff were helpful and approachable, even when rushed off their feet! Food was absolutely delicious and tasted like home again, adding to the warm atmosphere! If we come back to the Lakes again, we’ll definitely be back!
I was looking forward to a spot of lunch here after the train journey but I felt the options were limited and in the end opted for a coffee and a snack. Coffee was average, overall disappointed.
Despite being served as a takeaway for our sit down lunch, the food was very nice. Sandwiches freshly made and delicious crispy chips. Soup was a bit thin but full of vegetables and the roll was lovely and fresh.
Popped here in the afternoon for tea and scones. Hadn't been here before but it had been recommended. Was sorry there was only take away packaging. No tea pots etc. Staff were obliging and friendly and the scones were the very best. There was a pay and display car park which was surprising for tea room visitors.
We took the steam train from Lakeside to Haverthwaite with the intention of trying out this cafe. My wife has celiac disease, so we were excited to see that they offered a gluten-free menu. When we arrived, the cafe was quiet and there was a menu on the counter displaying all the gluten-free options. However, when we tried to order from it, the staff informed us that the gluten-free options were no longer available and we had to order from the board instead. It was around 11:30am. We ended up ordering a gluten-free jacket potato and a bacon and egg roll from the board. Unfortunately, the bacon was overcooked and the egg was extremely rubbery. The food was served in a paper bag, despite us paying for dine-in service. The only positive aspect was that we were able to take our disappointing meal in a paper bag and catch the next train back to Lakeside.
