Bidra med feedbackThe menu at this restaurant is fantastic and the breakfast options are fit for a king. The fish and chips paired with a pint of real ale make for a perfect combination.
The restaurant was very dirty, even after a second cleaning attempt. There was still body hair in the bathroom, dirty carpets, dusty floors around the bathtub, and leftover plastic from the previous guest's mouthwash on the floor.
Delicious! All three courses were very tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed them. I would definitely recommend the food. Fab!! I will definitely return for such yummy food when I am in the area again. The only suggestion I have is to double check if you receive complimentary tap water or if you have to pay for a sealed bottle of water. We paid for ours without realizing that others in the restaurant were given free water.
When I am travelling on the I know that visiting the William Cecil for a coffee or something to eat will always be a lovely experience. And when we stopped off there recently without booking, we were given a great welcome and sustained hospitality....We all chose the cheeseboard offering as a light lunch, and each meal was consistent in its presentation and quality; they even brought us some more water biscuits on request. Thank you to all concerned, and we are again sure to return.
We got off to a bad start with a server apologising unnecessarily and blaming others for their mistakes. That added a tension from which the evening didn't really recover. Really good menu which I'd like to revisit but after making a fuss about the lamb...being offered pink it came medium/well done and my order for a glass of wine necessitated a reminder. Not a disaster, I don't want to put off people from going but my evening was a disappointment.
