Mama Liz's Soul Food Shack

Our recent visit to Mama Liz's was fantastic. The staff were so welcoming accommodating and the service we received was great. The drinks were exceptional and I'd definitely recommend trying the strawberry daiquiri mojito's! Our group all had the best time so thanks to all the staff, we most certainly shall return soon.

Went for lunch, the waiter was very polite and attentive. He made sure our visit was a most pleasant experience. The food was delicious and although it was quite quiet there was still a good vibe. Definitely going back.

One of the best vegan burgers i have ever had! It was flavoursome and well cooked. The chips were also good. It's a nice place that's also great for a night out

We 've been to Mama Liz 's a few times always enjoy great food although it is quite noisy at times especially when they have a large group in it usually doesn 't stop you enjoying your meal. I booked a table last week was told they had a large group coming so we went a little earlier than usual. When we arrive we were greeted at the bar straight away after ordering drinks we were shown to our table which was in one of the corners but the large group (a bridal gang) started to arrive even my wife asked if we should not bother go somewhere else but I said no we 'll bear it out. A young girl Alicia came over to take our food order I was surprised when she said sorry looked over at the group, would you like to eat downstairs where it is not so noisy ! We said yes please so she took us downstairs where although there was bar noise it was certainly better than being upstairs struggling to hear ourselves talk. Even the person who I assumed was the restaurant manageress came over to us when we were seated smiled at us said please don 't leave me on her own up there laughed. THE FOOD: As always was classical south american food, excellently cooked, presented very nicely was really full of flavors. Exactly what we expect when we dine at Mama Liz 's. THE MENU: There 's lots of choices you are really spoilt with choosing one dish for each course. PRICES: Every dish is reasonably priced nothing to expensive. We will be back quite soon but really must SHOUT A BIG THANK YOU TO ALICIA for making our evening enjoyable instead of just bearable. She was fantastic, friendly, helpful I would certainly recommend this restaurant the staff to anybody looking for a good evening out.

We were meeting up with friends for the weekend and decided to try this place for a drink and some food . We sat in the bar area in big comfy sofas for a few drinks before going through to a dinning area to eat with basic wooden table and chairs . The food was great and a nice change from the norm. . Between us we tried the goat curry , jambalaya and gumbo and all were good value and very tasty There is a proper restaurant area upstairs where an open mic night was taking place but we were so comfortable downstairs we stayed there the whole evening . I gather it’s very popular at the weekend but it wasn’t too crowded when we were there and we found a great place to unwind
