We have been dining at Harry's Place every year since 2003, and it has always been a special occasion for us, our friends, and family. We are already looking forward to 2023. We would love to visit more frequently, but it is quite a distance from our home. The food and wine are delicious, and the atmosphere is always inviting.
A visit to Harry’s is a unique experience. Delicious food, served with love in a cosy and charming setting. No razzmatazz or gimmicks, just excellent, tasty food, prepared with skill and care. A real treat. Recommended.
We come to Harrys 4/5 times a year. Every time it’s never less than historic. The soups are always mouth watering, the beef the best ever and The prune and Armagnac Ice cream to die for. Everyone we’ve taken there absolutely loves it. We recently took some Canadian friends there who said it was quintessentially English. I agree. We are foodies and eat in a range of restaurants including 2/3 Michelin star in the Uk and beyond but Harrys is our favourite in the world. Yes it’s different, quirky, limited menu but it’s consistently brilliant and Caroline and Harry wonderful, interesting and good humoured hosts. And I’m picky !!!!
We have been visiting Harry's Place for over twenty years and in that time it has hardly changed and the standard of the food has never been less than first class. The fact that there is normally only a choice of two starters, two mains and two desserts is perhaps a problem for some, but it is the only way to maintain Harry's very high standards in such a small establishment. The food is very seasonal and Harry and Caroline take great care in the sourcing of the best ingredients. On a typical evening midweek there may be only one other table of diners and if you prefer a place that is buzzing with activity and loud music , you might be better off somewhere else. But if you enjoy good food in an atmosphere that is at the same time both calm and tranquil on the one hand and friendly and welcoming on the other, then Harry's Place may be for you.
