The Tickell - South Cambridgeshire

A very nice meal with fantastic service in a beautiful environment. We drove 1.5 hours to meet relatives halfway in the Tickell and we will definitely be back.

Exciting and innovative fish-focused menu, featuring specialties that have been carefully crafted for the discerning local foodies. While not exceptional, the restaurant holds its own against others in the area. The menu still offers some good locally sourced options, but the potential for a more unique selection seems to have been overlooked.

We had an excellent birthday dinner at this restaurant. The service was friendly and professional. The menu offers a wide variety of seasonal dishes that cater to different tastes. Although the pudding was not perfect, we appreciated the discount we were offered on our bill. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. The dining room, located in the conservatory, provides a lovely view of the garden. We have visited multiple times and have always experienced consistently good quality and service.

What could be better than in the company of loved ones in a restaurant with a menu from which the most important lady in your life says she could choose anything, food that corresponds to the description and 'off the beaten track' wines from the southwest through the glass or through the bottle to bathe the experience?

Great food (including for two vegetarians peas with attitude), excellent service, atmosphere full of character, and altogether very enjoyable evening. Chose to be inside, but garden also looks lovely.
