Bidra med feedbackVery acceptable, Landlord was pleasantly welcoming. Real fires blazing. Good selection of reasonably priced ales. Locals seemed friendly and we ended up playing darts with them.
**** superb, best service and lovely barman. Top marks from me and I will be back. Robin is a legend and lovely music and amazing people all round love it.
This is an excellent local community pub. Superb service backed with quality pub grub. Traditional, atmospheric and well worth a visit.
The Bees is a lovely old village pub in the picturesque village of Whittlesford. You could leave the car in the ample car park and start a 30 mins circular walk around the village to work up an appetite. The food is excellent well cooked local produce and is great for Sunday lunch, or sitting outside on a sunny day. It is children friendly. The food varies but is always satisfying and delicious, not fine dining but great value for money. The staff are fantastic,and make you feel at home. A good experience .
What do you want in a pub? Thai food, loud music, trendy beers with amusing names, video game arcade machines, football on the big screen? Fair enough, each to their own; go elsewhere. A small choice of traditional, old fashioned pub grub (only far better prepared than pubs ever managed back in the days when it was just called pub grub , folk music at a level which allows you to continue talking to your friends without having to shout, a collection of typical pub ephemera and some bees in the wall and rabbits in the beautiful garden, which are both a lot more interesting than football? You 're going to love this place. Lawrie, the landlord for nearly 40 years, informed me that he 'd had some recent delivery issues and as such only had one beer on. Fortunately, it was an Adnam 's beer and all Adnam 's beers are good, so that was alright. It later turned out that he did in fact also have all the usual lagers, but apparently he doesn 't consider lager to be beer... top bloke ;
