We also ordered coffee.Sorry to say that we were very disappointed in the breakfast. Then, when the bill came, we were surprised - shocked - to see that the price wasn't $10.99 as originally quoted, but $15.95. Per person. We discussed this with the server and ended up splitting the difference.Red Bay Lodge has been around for a long, long time and I had hoped the new owners would try to bring it back to its former glory. Sadly, it seems that they're not interested in investing the time and energy to make it a success. Or perhaps they'e tried but have given up.They could turn this place into a great dining establishment but need to make substantial investments to do so. A fresh, hot breakfast, served at a buffet, instead of warmed-over fare drying out in an aluminium tray, would have been preferable, especially at $16 per person. The Lodge is currently for sale, and the restaurant is only open Thurs - Sun.
We have gone to the Red Bay Lodge a couple times with our church group of about 60 people. Twice for our annual "Beer and Hymns" event and for our fall parish retreat. The space, food, and hospitality were awesome. We'll be going back again.
While staying at the red bay lodge I went for wing night at tilted antler .they where not very busy maybe 20 people.I came alone sat down 15 minutes be fore any one noticed me. I ordered the wings, got them in under ten minutes,no napkins . my waitress gone for 20. I would say the wings came from a frozen box meal from the oven. Not bad but not what I would expect from a restaurant, staff was totally disorganized do not think I would go back
The lodge looks like it may have been new around 1940 but the food is good. Bring something to do after you order because it may take a while. We played 2 games of euchre with our friends and the wait for the food was well worth it.
Went for dinner when staying at a local B&B. It was all you can eat fish and chips night and our waitress made sure my husband got his money's worth! I had the local whitefish with red potatoes and veggies. It was pretty busy when we arrived but the service didn't suffer. Inside looks like a lodge, so it has a nice outdoors feel. Great place for a nice summer dinner!
