What a disappointment! And what a good lesson in taking the reviews seriously. I saw they were pretty terrible but thought I would give them the benefit of doubt. Sadly something has gone very wrong with Next Door Kitchen and Bar and the recent reviews reflect that. The service was incompetent rather than rude but the food was really ordinary. We went with the share plates which resulted in cold, soggy chips, dried out chicken wings that were definitely not freshly cooked, a very average mini burger and a few other bits and pieces. The best thing on it was a piece of calamari. No it was not expensive but it was not worth the price and spoilt a great day out. There are so many wonderful choices at South Bank/South Brisbane that I can't believe they are still in business.

We arrived without a booking and were seated within 5 minutes. The service was fast and friendly although all the staff were very busy. The menu was great and affordable and had lots of options. I had the crumbed chicken and it really could have done with some sauce/ gravy but other than that the food was good

Absolutely disappointing. Breakfast was awful. Oily and very expensive. Do not bother. Greasy and very costly. No real concern from staff about quality.

Shocking service, hostile management/owner, average food, basic wine list. Years ago this place was fantastic, beautiful food, moreish wine, excellent and knowledgable staff, welcoming hostess who remembered us every time. My wife even mentioned next door in her blog! Bringing back the parmesan fries won't make us come back, and we loved those. This place is the pitts.

There were empty tables and the menu seemed okay so we went in. We waited an hour for our meals and they were not great. One we sent back as it was cold. The others were only adequate. Wait staff were lovely, and they took two meals off the bill which was good. The wine was perfectly fine.
