Bidra med feedbackI visited this restaurant with my Korean partner and she mentioned that it had a typical Korean restaurant setup. As someone who is new to Korean food, I found it to be a unique experience. The staff was friendly and efficient, providing prompt and good service. I received more than expected from a voucher, so I would definitely return again. Overall, it was great value for money with excellent service. What more could you ask for?
I was pleasantly surprised when I decided to try this restaurant instead of going for Chinese food. There are so many different options to enjoy the food here. We ordered the set menu which included a BBQ at the table and all-you-can-eat options from a 3-course list. We were very pleased with our meal and recommend trying the marinated dishes. We plan to return soon to try their hot stone cooking option. Definitely worth a visit!
I bought a Groupon voucher for 4 people to sample the 7 course banquet with BBQ meat, the price included a glass of wine. It worked out at $22 per head and, at that price, was an OK meal and offered something a bit novel with the cook your own meat over charcoal in a well in the middle of the table. I would have been very disappointed if I had paid the published rate of $60 per head. The restaurant is upstairs above shops in a small shopping centre, no atmosphere to speak of. We were seated quickly, given a jug of water and four glasses of wine. The first course was a chive pancake, cut into quarters it was very thick and undercooked, not a good start. Secondly we had four almost warm dumplings and two breaded prawns to share, not good. Then the waiters tried to bring the pancakes again (twice) we sent them back, and then we got more dumplings and prawns piping hot and quite good! Next was noodles with meat, quite tasty, but looked unappetising. And then the star of the show the raw meat to be cooked over the coals. There were two Wagyu steaks, marinated chicken, pork belly, pork ribs and some beef strips. The Wagyu was superb and the other meat good. Two small Korean salads to go with the BBQ. A small choice of dessert followed. Obviously there is a breakdown in communication between kitchen and waiters as evidenced by us receiving the same course multiple times. I would not recommend the 7 course banquet, but would definitely think about going for the BBQ again.
It was my boyfriends Birthday dinner, my friend and I took him here as a surprise he had been asking for ages to got to place like this. we did enjoy it, but we paid for the all you can eat BBQ, which we were excited about, we did enjoy the food, didn't eat as much as we wanted to because trying to get staffs attention to get more food brought out was hard work.
I had a Korean dish, forgotten exactly which one, but it was relatively inexpensive, came out in an orderly fashion and well and truly exceeded expectations. It came across to me as a very authentic Korean dinner. i have been to Seoul once and like Korean food and should remember the names of the dishes better. It was a terrific feed for a decent price, no mega unexpected charge for tap water (like in other restaurant in the hood here! , friendly service, prompt checkout,.... This particular evening, close to closing time, there was a Chinese wedding in the Chinese restaurant next door with a Chinese singer which interfered with the nice music being played in this restaurant, but that couldn't be helped. Given price and location I may have had lower expectations of dinner here hence my review is glowing! In the past I've had Bulgogi lunches here for which I've been back several times, simple, fast and yummy. Oh, and great KimChee!
