Bidra med feedbackIf you want to buy a whole BBQ duck, don't let them cut it, it will be missing some parts it. Don't ask why, they need to share it without you know that.Food: 1/5
The food is delicious, with big portions, and friendly serviceFood: 5/5
This place changed hands recently, the menu slightly changed (they now have Sichuan style spicy plates). But the quality of food is still great, the price is fair and the portions are huge. The decor and atmosphere is non existent, the service is barely passable your typical Chinese restaurant feel. But due to the quality of the food, I still would recommend this place. Give it a shot!
Good: BBQ Pork (Cha Siu , Roasted Pork belly (Siu Yok , Roasted Duck (Siu Ngap Bad: If you don 't understand some of the Chinese mannerisms, you 're gonna learn toda I hated this place for a while but... they got above average food and it 'll do in a pinch. It 's the best BBQ Pork, in El Monte. But that 's not the same as saying it 's the best taco in El Monte. It 's a local joint where you can get some of the Chinese delicacies. Some of these items are so hard to make at home that you just have to go out to buy them. We always get these 3 things Cha Siu, Siu Yok, and Siu Ngap. They 're yummy. If you want to impress a Chinese lady, bring a box of each to the next potluck. Some of the mannerisms that I had to get used to: 1. When you buy the BBQ pork it 's in lbs. So if you ask for 1 lb, I 'll get like 1.2 1.5 lbs. Master! (see fu! ! I axed you for 1 lbs, why you give me so much. I wasn 't mentally prepared to eat or pay this much. Solution: if your goal is 1 lbs, ask for 1/2 lb. It 's always a gamble, you gotta kinda eyeball it Good luck! be mentally prepared for leftovers or food coma. 2. See Fu is the name of the chef which directly translates to master. All of the chefs are See Fu dunno why I 'm all tripped up over this. But... if he can keep cooking this well, I 'll keep calling him See Fu. 3. Language barrier shoot, man... I just texted my wife what do you call Roasted Pork Belly and Roasted Duck in canto just to help me write this review. So... know what you want to order in Canto. Type of meat: BBQ Pork (Cha Siu , Roasted Pork belly (Siu Yok , Roasted Duck (Siu Ngap know your numbers: 1 4 google doesn 't have a good translator, use bing: know how to ask them to cut the meat for you so the See Fu doesn 't have to grab his cleaver and show you the motion. Use bing translator for English to Cantonese
I have't been Sunny Shine for a while. They recently changed the ownership. Their memu has been changed, and their BBQ stuffs and their foods are not good as before. The food is different than I'm used too
