Bidra med feedbackOnce again, we had the pleasure to enjoy the food of this superb and hidden restaurant located in the Enkarterri area. 0 Km local products, lovely meat and delicious fresh fish, but really fresh fish; all of them cooked with the knowledge gathered since many many years by Loli’s, a self-made great cook. The cellar will positively surprise you; Josu has slowly but steadily created an astonishingly good one on which your only concern will be to find a wine that matches your taste. Never mind, all of them are excellent “caldos”, get Josu’s advice. Bear in mind that food for Basques is more than feed, it is a pleasure to share with your best friends or family or, even, business partners. That is why you should take it easy, do not worry, do not be in a hurry enjoy their company, and, if you are in a hurry, note that in Bilbao you will find fast-food of all kinds. In here, take your time to taste Loli’s dishes. Our last meal included marinated cod, “gambas and camarons”, slides of octopus and a freshly fished “rey” to finish this superb meal with an ancient local dessert called “tostadas. It is worth to get off the beaten track to enjoy an excellent meal.
We travel to Spain a lot, we always look forward to visit the Mendiondo. The food was today, as always AMAZING. The lascas de pulpo, lascas de bacalao and the anchoas are by far better than anywhere else. The attention and service by Iosu, the owner is as equally perfect to the food they serve. Today Iosu suggested the wine we had, and as expected was delicious. Can’t wait to go back on Saturday to celebrate my birthday!!!!!!
Hidden treasure with extraordinary culinary value and a wonderful wine cellar which is not huge but exquisite in its small variation! Don't miss the chance to visit this family owned and run restaurant which is perhaps a tad out of the way but very very well worth a visit. The Valley that it's set in is a hidden treasure and also worth exploring for a real taste of the Basque traditions and values. Highly recommended home made food with the freshest ingredients from their own eco gardens and the fish straight from the nearby ports.
Restaurante idílico para disfrutar de una muy buena comida. La ensalada de tomate deliciosa. El foie espectacular y el chuleton de otro nivel. Los dueños una maravilla de personas y el personal encantador. Volveremos sin duda.
No conocía el lugar y ya he repetido de nuevo. Muy atento el servicio de camareros, buena comida, agradable comedor. Gracias!
