Nuovo Portico - SONDRIO

Since the winery next door was closed and didn´t answer the phone... the bar staff offered a wine tasting on their own served with some cheese and charcuterie. They were pleasant and very helpful,

A friendly, cute little bar in Sondrio. The prices were excellent, and if you are looking to do a casual tasting of Valtellina wines in Sondrio, it is an excellent place. I really enjoyed my visit! Get a glass of the sfursat while you’re there, it was incredible

Nice small bar in the old Part of Sidirno. The personell are everytime smiling. Nice little garden i enjoid the stay.

You find Nuovo Portico the end of the path Rusca coming down from Valmalenco, at the first houses of Sondrio. Still old stone houses, narrow streets, smell of smoke, hosts Nuovo Portico Bar. There is a small yard with chairs and tables, good for summer time. Inside rooms one after the other, old furniture, stones in the walls (part of the rooms are in the basement of the building) and a warm relaxed atmosphere; people come and go sharing places at tables. The owner is very kind and ready to give explanations about menu and tips about interesting places around. Sandwiches are very tasty, made with local food and good price. Offer of wines is based on a few selected local producers and can be ordered also in single glasses; I have drunken a seasoned Le Prudenze . Coming thirsty from high valley or walking up from lower parts of Sondrio, it is always the case for stopping here not only for drinking but mainly for enjoying that small unknown corner that brings us back to old mountain village life
