Good interior design, quiet and dazzling atmosphere. only drinks and snaks. patio is on the river banc

One of those places you just want to hang around. huge space next to the river. great outdoor seats on the water, inside the huge windows, high ceilings.

I had 2 friends visiting Switzerland and we ate in this restaurant on 11th July. It had to be the worst possible service I (and my friends) have ever experienced. Firstly we wanted to sit outside as it was a sunny evening, but after a rain shower earlier, some of the tables had some water on them but the waitress was really insisting we sit inside as it meant she had to wipe them......in the end we said we would dry them off as it was not a problem! We ordered our meal and when the wine arrived, she opened the bottle, and we said we loved that sound......to which she grumpily said...good wine should not make that sound! Whether she was implying we ordered a cheap bottle or the wine quality was not good.....we all just looked at her and she walked away. We were sharing a salad.......so the salad bowl arrived....but no plates so we had to ask for them. We had asked for water, but none came, so we asked another waitress who just slammed bottle down. Then we waited another 5 minutes for the glasses to arrive! We ordered pizzas which were delicious, and when we were finished the other waitress just took plates and never asked, did we enjoy our meal, would we like a coffee or to see the dessert menu. Then we asked for coffee........which seemed like a total inconvenience to them, and the cups were just left at side of table and we sorted out who ordered which coffee. Though the food was really lovely and the location very pretty, the appalling service with grumpy, unfriendly waitresses left an unpleasant taste in our mouths and we won’t be returning.

One of the best summer (& winter spots) to get a very very tasty pizza in Solothurn. Enjoy one of the many differents proposal or choose your own topings. Highly recommended.

Excellent summer restaurant and bar in front of river Aare and inside the old town of Solothurn. First time i went there had an amazing pizza, everything fresh. Second time had a tortellini dish with salad. Salad was fresh with a choice of french or Italian dressing. Tortellini were cooked perfectly with a fresh cream sauce. Staff is amazingly friendly but bear in mind that not all of them speak English but they will help you.
