Bidra med feedbackThe new Vittles is probably the best home cookin' place besides your Mama's house. I had the chicken and dumplings, collards, potato salad and cornbread. I also had half and half ice tea and drank the collard liquor too! Their hours are limited so go at lunch or early dinner. You won't be disappointed. Edit 6/11/22 Been closed for a minute. I don't know what is in that location now. New edit 7/22/22 Now a Hookah Lounge and restaurant.
Closed . We'll miss you. UPDATE ,now open Vittles 2.0 New and improved, I won't miss the smokers.
I fell in love with Vittles as soon as I saw the smoking door and apparently non-smoking door. Vittles is an authentic southern family restaurant that is completely unconcerned about being anything else. I had an amazing and filling breakfast that I could have paid for with a $10 bill and left a generous tip. On my visit there were several large families, each sitting together laughing, talking, enjoying good food and good company. The staff is friendly and attentive as if you had stopped in a friend's house for a bite. Vittles is so down to earth, it makes Waffle House seem pretentious and contrived. So someday soon, do yourself a favor and skip the avocado toast and machiatto. Eat something real, in a real place, surrounded by real people.
Food is excellent. Big portions. Everyone is so friendly. Price is great too. Cute atmosphere. It's kind of like a Cracker Barrel but smaller. But the home cooking is better. My dad goes there every week. Says the chicken and dumplings are great. I always get the fried green tomatoes. :
Glad they finally reopened. The service is still fast and friendly and the food is still as tasty as I remembered before. I love the new renovations as the old layout was a bit cramped and cluttered. Welcome back Vittles!
