Bidra med feedbackWhile the server was attentive, she was hindered by a very slow kitchen. The food was over-cooked and I believe that my sandwich sat under a heat lamp while my wife's quiche was being warmed. We were disappointed. No Wi-Fi.
Delicious fresh food. Made to order so that means you wait a few minutes. Our party of 5 arrived shortly after opening time on a weekday and were the only ones there. Of course there's a wait if you go on a Saturday with all the tourists. We all loved our meals! We had roasted chicken sandwiches, a Reuben, a Rachel, and a roasted veggie sandwich on homemade olive focaccia. Sandwiches were generous with 3 of us taking halves home. Sides were tasty pasta salad and homemade fries. Service was great too. Go on a weekday if you can. Get a seat outside that overlooks the street so hear you hear the clip-clop of the Amish buggies!
We ate here for lunch and were disappointed that we had to wait OVER AN HOUR for our meals to be served. The restaurant wasn't too busy for a Saturday afternoon, only about 7 or 8 tables were taken, but our waitress explained to us that the (new owner was not pleased that he was not making a profit after three months of owning the restaurant, so he let go of most of the employees. Our waitress was the ONLY server scheduled, and she told us the cooks were literally in tears in the kitchen because they were so far behind. My mom ordered the quiche which was delicious, but she was surprised to find that the portion size is much smaller than it used to be. It came with some stale bread (pepperoni bread minus the pepperoni maybe? and enough garnish with greens and tomato to almost be considered a miniature side salad, without the dressing. She didn't touch it. If our server hadn't been so swamped, she might have asked for dressing. I ordered the turkey reuben. It was very good, but the sweet potato fries it came with were undercooked. Had they not been semi-raw, they would have been very good. We didn't want to ask much of our waitress because we could tell she was absolutely overwhelmed, and we were very appreciative that she did such a great job keeping our drinks filled. She was a sweetheart, but I am not sure I'd be back after this experience.
This is a gem in Amish country. Great food and atmosphere. I was told by locals that this is thee place to eat around here. They also said there is an hour long wait to get in, sometimes. It all makes sense now. I love the home made minestrone soup and pulled pork sandwhich. I hope to be back there again someday. It was the best soup that I have had in a long time. You can taste the fresh in the ingredients. I love it! :
