Nordstrom Cafe Old Orchard - Skokie

The hours on Google Maps is incorrect. It closes at 1900, one hour before the store itself closes. However, it looked clean and the menu items looked good.

Nordstrom’s Cafe has raised their prices and cut their food choices. Let’s start with the recent elimination of its Turkey Cranberry half sandwich which was around $10. It was a great value. Now for today’s adventure. I ordered a plain hamburger medium well snd iced tea. With my wife’s order it was $48 including tip. I got a cheese burger with mayonnaise. The second try arrived with mayo again. On the third try I got a free cookie. I’ll end my adventure here by saying that Burger King is looking better to me.

Jay was the most delightful server and was so kind and helpful in helping us select a dessert item. Jay made our holiday lunch outing a wonderful experience. Way to go Jay!!! Merry Christmas!

This department store chain has been coping rather well with pandemic-era challenges and the great migration to online shopping. I miss the early years when this store catered to a more mature clientele. It used to be like a Von Maur; elegant and with live piano music wafting through the atrium. Fine Jewelry, the Gift Gallery, and Customer Service/Gift Wrap used to have their own separate rooms. Walls no longer separate the various departments; everything is intermingled. Piped-in rock, polished concrete floors, and fashion cater to a more recent generation. But thank goodness, the high quality of the merchandise and attentive service were never compromised. My Missus is a big devotee of their current Nordy Club Rewards program. The shopping experience here is somewhat reminiscent of the late, great Marshall Field's.

This was my first time visiting this location and we had such a wonderful experience I thought I 'd share. I usually go straight to the rack but my husband desperately wanted to give me a real leather jacket for christmas an d this location gave me that. We first went to Macy 's and was pointed in every direction but the right one and the selection in person was very limited. We went to a few other places and they advertised genuine and it all was faux (Kohl 's did have some nice faux). We were actually cutting through Nordstrom and decided to give them a try even though they are usually too pricey for something like that. I didn 't find anything I like so as we we 're heading out to the store I googled Crystal asked us if we found everything okay. I said 'no ' kinda jokingly and she Immediately wanted to help. She went through the options online, found my size, and ordered it. We had about a 20 minute consultation on options and she found something similar so I could get a feel for the fit. My gorgeous jacket arrived today. If a person at Macy 's would 've taken the time they would 've sold a jacket that day even if it was online. Crystal found me a $300 jacket for $179.
