Tala Adega Tipica - Sintra

It was very disappointment come back after 18 years.. Nowadays you have to wait a lot of time to get a table, but it’s like that in every good restaurant so nothing new there. In terms of food I had this place in a very good memory, but this time the food was terrible. I order cosido, my wife vitela. The cosido was so salty it was unbearable to eat. In the case of the vitela, the meat was really hard and dry. A complete disappointing for a typical Portuguese restaurant. I really can’t recommend this restaurant anymore.

The Tala adega tipica is a popular restaurant restaurant to have a Cozido a Portuguesa meal. Unfortunately is so big that the noise is impossible. You need ti be prepared to wait for long for a table and at the very end the food is disappointing. The meat was not well cooked. Don’t recommend.

We stayed in this area our last night before we flew out. The hotel we were staying at told us about this restaurant. We had no reservations, but that was no problem since the place can hold 300. We thought maybe because of this the food quality would not be up to our standard. That was not the case. It was very good. We both started with kale soup. Which was good. My wife ordered the Octopus which was cooked just right. It also came with some oven roasted potatoes, eggs, and onions. I had the steak, which was tender and came with rice, and fries. The fries were not special, but the steak was very good, and quite large. We also ordered a side of green beans, which were very good. We ordered desserts, coconut cake, and chocolate mousse. These were both very good. My wife ordered the house white wine which was good and reasonably priced. These dishes come very large so bring your appetite! Our server was Bruno and he was excellent. This is a very popular destination for the locals.. We arrived around 7:00 and it was not crowded at all.. By the time we left at 8:30 it was a very busy place.. But they are used to it and handle it very well. The bill for what we had was quite reasonable. They have a huge parking lot on the side of the restaurant. We would come again if in the area. Enjoy!
