Bidra med feedbackThis is definitely same-same-but-different, regardless you are comparing with Singapore Nasi Lemak or Malaysia Nasi Lemak. Nasi is fragrant soft, achar is something refreshing (could be better if more sour), ikan bilis/peanut is crispy crunchy, and most of all… I love that sambal chili. That’s the kind of paste/taste in Malaysia. I would recommend for a whole leg to complete the “insta look” of your meal (its more appetizing but challenging to finish). Think I will be back soon to try for other dishes like beef rendang, curry capitan chicken, sambal petai prawn sambal sotong. These only makes you missed Malaysia food so so much.
One of the better nasi lemak in Singapore. Given the outer colour of the fried chicken is so brown, you wouldn’t expect the meat was so juicy and tender! Chillies is good (spicy and fragrant). Rice is decent. Come early! The last time I came at 1+ pm on a weekday, they were sold out. Will come back to try other dishes such as beef rendang and some curry chicken.
Since I’ve never tried Village Nasi Lemak, I would say this is quite good (I have a Malaysian taste bud). The sambal is quite spicy, fried chicken is crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The rice is fragrant too. I added the sambal sotong as a side. The portion was generous. My friend had the curry kapitan set, it was good as well. Overall, the portion is huge. Unable to finish it. Maybe next time I’ll stick to the fried chicken set without any sides. If you are nearby, do give them a try. Oh did I mention that coffee shop is newly renovated too?
The food is great, even when taken to-go. The chicken is flavorful with a crispy skin, and the rice has a delightful aroma. The chili is also quite good. Overall, this place offers a better value compared to a certain coconut club, while maintaining the same high standards.
The coffee shop has a typical setup, and the line for nasi lemak is quite long. I had high hopes based on all the reviews and online buzz. The fried chicken thigh is excellent and cooked to perfection. The sambal is also good, and according to my colleague, it’s self-service. The rice is soft and fluffy, though I would have liked a more pronounced coconut flavor and aroma. I would likely return when I have a craving for it.
