J.C Sushi - Simcoe

Found this restaurant by accident. It's in a plaza next to a busy supermarket. You almost don't notice it as the signage is not very distinguishable. The decor inside is largely black and white with oddly placed pictures of Paris along one wall. Ordered their highest-end bento box. Surprised to find that it was more than just a bento box. Started with a small miso soup, followed with small salad. Then, surprisingly, four HUGE pieces of sushi with a delightful flavour. Finally, the Bento Box with fantastic tempura vegetables, skewered pork with a hint of five-spice powder, a ball of rice and grilled beef and vegetables, sprinkled with sesame seeds. Heavenly. The price was so good that I ordered another bento to take home. Well done, J.C.

I am boycotting sushi eight and joy sushi in Brantford and found this wonder hidden gem in Simcoe when I was on a work call. The Price literally can not be beat by any place around. It is small location but that how you get such personal and fast service. They make do not fill the roles with the cheap ingredients. You get your money's worth and it tastes great. I normally spend 1.5 hrs in an AYCE, but because the food came at such a great pace I was full and good in 45 minutes. This place is soooo good, I almost don't want you to know about it. I will be going back for lunch next, or maybe dinner cause $21.99 is a steal. My only thing was they were our of Mackerel.... But i lived.

We love going to JC Sushi. We used to drive to get good sushi, so we were very happy when JC Sushi opened in Simcoe and we were even happier to find the food is great. They do not have quite as many items to select from as sushi restaurants in the bigger centres, but they have some unique rolls. You need to try the JC Roll!

We have been here many times, and the service is excellent. Everyone is very pleasant and helpful in explaining things that we hadn't tried. The food comes out quickly, and it always an enjoyable experience. It is delicious! I have brought friends from Fort McMurray there before and loved it and we are actually going there this evening. Thank you for always making it such a wonderful meal!

Sorry to give such a poor review, but if drastic changes are not made quickly, this place is doomed anyway. Experience was so bad that I am baffled by the positive reviews below. Maybe I was just unlucky to be there the day the real sushi chef was off and the day before the old fish was thrown out. I only went to JC because it was recommended (I guess like the reviewers below, my friend has only ever had TRUCK STOP SUSHI), never would have taken a chance on small town sushi place otherwise. My dinner companion and I agreed that we couldnt even be upset with the restaurant because it was just as bad as we expected it would be. Staff obviously not making any money on tips as they were unfriendly and very unaccomodating. Nobody but us in the place from 2:30 to 3:30 and still the service was terrible.
