The gourmet set menu was made with international standards of fine cuisine, and cost only $100 USD for 2 persons including taxes, tip and a bottle of Chardonnay. We highly recommend Mie Cafe!
Amazing food! A reasonable price! Super friendly and professional staff. Large French and Cambodian food fusion. Try to visit Siem Reap. Would like to go again!
Khmer dining with western style presentation. Food was tad on the saltier side. Khmer beef with red ants (yes actual ants, the big red ones you see everywhere) was very good, the ants add the texture of caviar to the dish. Frog legs were salty and the mushroom in the middle was full of sand or grit, this was the only miss. Curry and pork eggplant dishes were both good. The drinks were excellent! Strong mojito and tasty Singapore sling. Service was very attentive. Otherwise excellent, sans the mushrooms on our frog leg dish.
This fine restaurant is located slightly out of the city but getting there is not an issue at all. Just hop on to any friendly tuk tuk. They have a great ambience and the service was prompt and efficient. I find the menu to be a tad limited but since it's my first visit, I don't mind at all. The food is good well prepared fusion of East and West.
We recently stayed in Siem Reap and had a good dinner at Mie Cafe located off Charles de Gaulle Road, just north of the Sofitel Hotel. Opening hours are 11am to 2pm (lunch) and 5.30pm to 9.15pm (dinner) daily. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays. The restaurant setting is tidy, clean with an urban restaurant feel. Atmosphere is quite nice for date nights and having a good meal with friends. Tables are spaced nicely and service is friendly, timely and attentive. During our meal we very much enjoyed the La Ap Beef with red ants starter. This was a creative local dish, attractively served and of very nice flavour. For mains, we had the Traditional Khmer Curry and the Traditional Khmer Chicken Amok, both of which tasted as expected. Cocktails tasted just fine and the Mango Banana Sombai dessert was a nice way to finish our meal. Overall we liked the restaurant setting and found the food and drinks served up at Mie Cafe to be pretty good. We'd consider dining here again during future visits to the city.
