The White Horse Inn - Shropshire

An amazing place to eat with lovley scenery all around I would highly recommend coming for anything that they have to offer over anywhere else

We are staying in Shrewsbury and walked our dogs to the white horse, the staff are very polite and friendly, the coffee fantastic and great beer! And to cap it all excellent value too. We will definitely come back when we are in this area again.

Booked in for the quiz, first time of completing and it was a really great night. The staff were extremely attentive (table service all night for drinks too) they were friendly, chatty and jolly nice! The quiz was really fun and we came 4th!! Definitely will be visiting for that again, to try and beat the reigning champions The food was really lovely too, I especially liked the vegan options on the menu, Katsu curry chips were yum!!! I like that they use vegan ingredients in some of the regular menu too. Overall a great atmosphere and great food!! Look forward to the next one

Popped in for a pint of Green Monkey, which was as always superb. Fancied some chunky chips, they arrived...... but in my opinion they were old... all cooked to a different stage, some already had vinegar on which concerned me (were they recycled) some tasted like roast potatoes. So my recommendation is DON'T order chunky chips, just drink the beer.

Went with a group of ten for a Christmas meal priced at around £25 plus once drinks were included. Arrived at 6.30pm for 7pm and gave our orders. Starters arrived at around 7.45pm and main courses for all at 8.15pm. Starters were small and the mains arrived all at different times and were a mixed bunch. My fish was fine, but many of the turkey dinners were cold and had to be sent back. Service was lack lustre and unsmiling and unapologetic. No real welcome no 'how was your meal ' and to top it all, the bill was wrong. A sad, sad evening and we wont be coming back of recommending the place at all. Really puzzled by some of the reviews and how a place could be really wonderful for some by truly terrible for others. I hate giving restaurant poor reviews as usually owners try hard. But really this place needs to buck its ideas up.
