Gianni's - SHOAL BAY

After a great pizza at the Shoal Bay Pub and a very good night at Atmos we decided to try this place again. We had tried it some years before and had been totally underwhelmed. Not much has changed and I note a few recent reviews support this view. Suggest the cook go to the Shoal Bay pub and see how they do pizzas and salads.

Ordered 2 pizzas under cooked, overload of Tomato Paste and not enough of the correct fillings. Worst pizza I have ever had won’t be back for pizza.

Ordered a pizza $25 ok. $6.50 to change from BBQ to tomato base and add anchovies. Whole anchovie fillets thrown at an obviously very undercooked pizza had to finnish cooking at home.Not worth $31.50.

Gianni's is a very mixed bag. The pizza are very good as was the chicken. But the risotto with porcini mushrooms was gluey left a very unpleasant mouth feel. The service was also quite chaotic.

This used to be the go to place in Shoal Bay, however, on our most recent visit to the bay, the food was below our expectations. I had Arancini balls which was one giant ball that was cold in the middle, my husband had the veal that was sitting a plate full of oil. The staff I understand were tired after a long busy summer, however, made absolutely no effort to be friendly to us as customers. We will try it again when we go back and hope that things have improved, but I will be checking TripAdvisor before I go again
