Seven - Shifnal

As a resident of Shifnal, I have frequented Seven Paints Bar to watch football or meet friends for a drink. The atmosphere on Saturday evenings can be a bit overwhelming for those seeking a quiet drink, but it is popular among the young and trendy crowd. The bar food has always been decent, with offerings like ciabatta sandwiches and jacket potatoes. However, a friend and I recently tried the restaurant located above the bar and were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, starting with a tapas-style dish with olives and bread, accompanied by a reasonably priced bottle of house wine. For my main course, I opted for a delicious chicken dish with speck and mushroom sauce served with pasta (although potatoes were also an option). The upstairs restaurant provided a much calmer atmosphere compared to the bustling and loud bar below, with original beams and a cozy ambiance. We will definitely be returning for another visit.

Being a Shifnal native i've visited the bar at Seven many times to watch football or meet friends for a drink, the atmosphere on Saturday nights can be a bit overwhelming if you want a quiet drink but is testament to its popularity with the young and trendy crowd.The bar food has always been pretty good if somewhat standard, ciabatta sandwiches, jacket potatoes and the like, but I and a friend recently tried out the proper' restaurant upstairs. The food was really very good, we had a tapas style dish to start with olives and bread, a bottle of house wine was not too expensive either. For a main I had a very tasty chicken with bacon and mushroom sauce which I had with pasta (there was an option of potatoes), it was very good. We had no complaints about the food or the atmosphere upsatirs is much quieter and its hard to believe you are dining above a very busy and quite noisy bar (we visited on a saturday night), it has original beams and is actually quite cosy, we will definitely visit again.
