Bidra med feedbackSo I'm sure like any other business in this sector, this one is suffering the pain of the pandemic. The owner also lacks family members who want to take it over, so who knows what will happen next. The business did seem to have a steady stream of takeout and delivery orders going through when we visited, but we were among the only dine-in customers for a Wednesday night dinner and the reduced buffet was a bit disappointing (the owner was gracious and explained that it was indeed reduced before we agreed to eat here of course and the food we did have was wonderful). I loved the naan and the chai ice cream! My kid loved the pakoras and the chai ice cream and toppings. The quality of the limited entrees was good as well but the lack of variety did put a bit of a damper on the experience. I'm sure if they got busier again for dine-in the experience would improve, but I doubt we'll be back again in the short term. I do like the fact that it really feels like a local business and supports other local businesses though so that was pretty lovely all in all. There was ample parking for such a quiet evening. Google Maps took us on a bizarre route to get here but oh well.
Had an amazing meal from New Asian Village last night. The chilli chicken is absolutely amazing as well as the cauliflower, the shrimp pakora and the mini veggie samosas. The customer service is probably some of the best customer service you are going to get at any restaurant in the Sherwood Park area. We got take out and when we got home the food was still hot and travelled very well. Would strongly recommend checking out this place.
Nice patio! Solid 4 stars. Traditional Indian food. Very friendly staff. I was surprised at the extensive beer selection. Indoor booths. Or outdoor patio with umbrellas with a nice skyline view. Be sure to check out the effigies in the patio fence. Buffet is $25 or order off the menu.
Very few patrons this night. This is what we noticed. While perusing the selections in the buffet, and right in the heart of the buffet, were about five people having an extremely loud and never-ending discussion in their native language. The oldest man was obnoxiously loud (stick your fingers in your ears loud) and the ladies were close behind. Obviously these people were the owners, family members, ETC. There were two young children who appeared to be brother and sister and they were having a sibling spat and the maternal lady was giving them a scolding. It was like we were in their own living room and they didn't care who was watching or listening. They probably have been doing this for so long, they think this behavior is normal. What a place to avoid.
The Service was excellent, very friendly staff that explained menu very well and made great recommendations. Dill pickle pakora is an amazing appy! Butter chicken with garlic naan and coconut rice was soo good!
