Sunset Beach - Shelter Island Heights

Easy to see a place. Overpriced food and drinks. Eating is not bad, just too expensive. In addition to the nightlife and the human scene there are better opportunities. Good first date night if you are young and want to impress your date, as the parking lot is often filled with expensive European sports and luxury cards on weekends.

Gorgeous views and a fab lido, but the restaurant service is terrible. $600 dinner for four with a condescending server and only one round of drinks because after food was dropped off we never saw him again until we had to chase down the check ????? if they?re going to charge that much, they should really take better care of their guests. so much potential though!

We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation time. We were not given menus and had to ask multiple times to get them and eventually stood up to get them. They were out of numerous options on the menu and when we ordered they came back 10 minutes later and said they were out of what we ordered. I asked to speak to a manager and he said this just happens and it basically is what it is. We got our appetizers but did not get our food and after asking multiple times for over an hour. Do not recommend. Not worth it at all.

Nice wait staff, but extremely slow when bringing drinks and food [even when it's not crowded]. Food and drinks are SMALL especially for price, but taste is good. Even the entrees are like tapas sized. Check your bill for mistakes!

We come every year on several occasions each year. Every year you have people who show up with no reservations trying to eat at the restaurants whose cars end up getting towed because they never made a reservation and have no where to park. Those are the people too cheap to pay for a reservation online who end up not getting a table and leaving a 1 star review. Sunset beach is gorgeous. There?s no other setting in the Hamptons area like it. That?s it. Grab a reservation and enjoy the scene. Dress it up. Service and vibe is a bit euro, so don?t expect service with Midtown Manhattan rush-hour speed.
