Bidra med feedbackIf you love the UP but the Metro Detroit area is too far away, go here instead. As soon as I walked in the door, I felt like I was in the Keweenaw. I did the take-and-bake thing, one Venison and one Elk for $10 a piece. They take an hour to cook frozen at 350, or 30 minutes if you can get them thawed out of the fridge in the store. I called ahead and they set some aside for me before I got there. They are perfectly made. The pastry is flaky and tightly tucked, but they are completely filled, and layered so well you could eat them with your hands (pasties were a bagged lunch for the copper miners in the 1800s). What a find. Thank you, Uncle Pete!
This place is constantly closed early. I have been let down so many times trying to get food from here. They have good pasties but I recommend going someplace else. They don’t know what customer service is and they are barely here. Super disappointed!
I frequent the U.P and am a total sucker for muldoons pasties in Munising so I was setting the bar high. The owner or who ever opened was super nice ans I was there right when he opened. and the options were crazy beef, chicken, Buffalo , venison I went traditional beef and got chicken for the wife and kid . And they did not disappoint. Flaky buttery Crust and filling was awesome 10/10 will def go back and try the others. . Wish I’d of taken picks but was to hungry ??
This is the only pasty shop left in the area. I don't make pasties in the summer. Way too hot in the house. So I don't make or have any in my freezer; I head to Uncle Peter's.
Great hidden gem! Wonderful comfort food! I love the double meat pasty. Yummy food!!!
