Bidra med feedbackWe decided to dine at the W&H because they offered a menu that suited all of us. However, we were disappointed to find very limited vegan options and the one we chose had only three servings left. Despite the menu advertising vegan and vegetarian choices, we were not accommodated during our lunch. Additionally, the meat option we ordered was unavailable. The food we ended up eating was average, but it was not what we had hoped for. Overall, our experience was pretty poor. I gave a rating of three mostly due to the nice and apologetic waiter who seemed embarrassed about constantly bringing us bad news.
My wife, two sons, sister, and nephew went for lunch and we absolutely loved it! There were plenty of different craft ales from local breweries to choose from. The menu was excellent and offered great value. The boys all had pizzas, which were huge and came with a drink for only £6.50. We even took some home as they provided a box for us. I ordered the gourmet burger and whitebait with curried mayo for only £4 - it was delicious! The food was fresh and paired perfectly with the local craft ales. There is also a great park behind the pub for the kids to enjoy. I highly recommend visiting this place.
I have dined at this restaurant for the fourth time in the past 18 months. Unfortunately, the food quality seems to have declined over time. The service from the waiting staff is excellent (mostly), which is the reason for three stars. If I were to rate solely based on the food, it would be one star. The location is great, the beer is good, and the staff is friendly (mostly), but the food is pretty terrible. It is disappointing as the other restaurants in the same group are usually excellent.
We held my late mother in laws wake at the Waggon and Horses yesterday, 14h November. They couldn’t do enough for us and I was so impressed with the service, food and organisation we received from them. We had the whole of the end of the pub to ourselves. The buffet lunch was really good, I highly recommend the delicious rocky road cakes (and no miserly portions here! . They were really accommodating when we wanted something a bit different from the menu (also highly recommend the delicious roast potatoes . All in all, they make a challenging day that little bit easier and for that I will be eternally grateful.
We arrived on a Monday night for some food and to partake in the quiz, something we had done earlier in the year whilst in Sheffield and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very friendly welcome, great service, nicely done out inside. Two disappointments, only one choice of pie (which was very good) and the quiz…Never have we ever done a quiz that was so hard! Pub quiz should be general knowledge and not made easy but not made ridiculously hard. We jokingly said something to the waitress, the response “God, I know… XXXXXXXX has only been doing it for a few weeks but like sto show everyone how clever she is”. Come on, sort it out! Think the highest score was 27 out of 50, that in itself is feedback!
