Hosuka Japanese - Shawnigan Lake

Absolutely hands down best sushi I have had in a long time!!! The restaurant itself is fantastic. Tiny place ... three tables. Cozy and inviting. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We had the Washington roll ... and a couple others. Highly recommend this place !

We came here 2 days in a row on our trip. Delicious food made with care. The first night we walked in, the scent of the food had us drooling. Definitely recommend! Loved the presentation and food tasted great!

It’s so good I came back the next day and I’m only in town for 3 days. The soba noodles are al dente and the dipping sauce is absolutely to die for. I don’t know what’s in it, but I’m tempted to order another batch. The yam tempura roll has the perfect crisp and a generous portion. I am super happy with Hosuka Japanese Restaurant!

Absolutely wonderful restaurant and incredibly polite, timely and professional owners. If you visit shawnigan lake, this restaurant is a must visit. You will not find this level of quality unless you travelled to Japan. Incredibly authentic.

Best authentic Japanese food on the south island! What a hidden gem, loved by locals (and visitors if they're lucky enough to discover it . I especially adore that the chef uses his 120-year-old family recipe for his tempura dishes. Fresh fish, good portions, and the most delicious vegetarian bento box I've ever had. The restaurant itself is small and well-decorated, and feels like you've stepped into a Japanese eatery. A must try if you are in the area :
