Bidra med feedbackWhat made our evening so nice: The restaurant was clean and attractive. The owner came out to welcome us and share a few words. The food was fresh and beautifully prepared. Heaters were available and a welcome addition to the patio. What really made the night special, though, was our server. Kahlil was friendly, authentically cheerful, and attentive in just the right amount. He was knowledgeable about the dishes and answered many questions with calm patience as well as enthusiasm. We had a delightful experience; Kahlil was the main reason for that and what made us feel so good when we left.
I grew up in the Riverside/Avondale area (graduated from high school in 1976) when there were very few choices for quality dining experiences. That has drastically changed since then.To keep it brief, everything about Mesa was excellent. The valet greeted us and opened the door for us, the host was friendly and knowledgeable, our server, quite frankly, one of the best we ever remember having. The ambience is not special but inviting and comfortable, and the food was delicious. One member of our party asked the server about a drink called a Salted Lassi, which the server said was not on the drink list. After our small plates and just as the server began bringing out our main courses the owner/head chef brought out a Salted Lassi she made special for our table. She then described the different variations of the drink and it's origins. This is the type of service that makes dining special.I don't write online reviews, this is my first one. I think this restaurant is worth the effort.
Phenomenal! We made reservations to sit at the bar and ended up doing the tasting menu. Paula was a great guide through the menu and the chef even came out to greet us. The passion they have for their craft is evident in the food, service, and atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend it enough, excellent flavors with unique style. I wish I had a specific dish to recommend but everything we had was delicious, but the Rasam on a cold wet night really hit the spot.Parking: Complimentary valet
My family and I dined at Mesa on 2/20 and let's just say it was an incredible meal! I am floored by the restaurant owner, Saji (and her son) who was hospitable, came out to talk, and made us feel like we were family. Truffle pani puri is so unique, pav bhaji was just right, the avocado sauce in the chickpea burger was delicious (and the burger was so good), and the chai semifreddo was so so good! Loved this restaurant and will return every time I'm in Jacksonville.
An over the top dining experience! So easy to tell this culinary team cooks with their soul. Paula the mixologist was so genuine and engaging and of course made great drinks. Can’t wait to go back!
