The Grillin' Crab - Shallotte

Good service, good American bar/pub style food, laid back atmosphere. We sat in the bar area on 12/31/2020 next to an open window which was great during the COVID-19 pandemic. I was severely disappointed that the bar tender was NOT wearing a mask the entire time we were there. I did see other workers (unsure of their roles) wearing masks. My rating is mostly based on their enforcement of current health and safety measures during the pandemic.

My wife and I had our evening meal here. When I paid my bill they had added a 12% extra charge that could not be explained. I called back and talked with a worker. I told him I wanted to contact the owner to give a review. He was reluctant, saying most people just wanted to complain. I finally reached the owner {very elusive} by mail. He said next time I was in, he would provide me a discount. I will never return. Also tipped before I realized the extra charge. Check your bill very closely.

Good food but obnoxious bartender and bar guests made it impossible to carry on conversation at table in open patio area.

We went the other day for lunch. Samantha took great care of us. Had the Fried Haddock sandwich with Fries and coleslaw. Very tasty. We sat in the outdoor dining room. Didn't not get to see the alligator but truly enjoyed our visit.
