Bidra med feedbackFrom the outside this place is very deceiving, just looks kind of ordinary but when you step inside you realize that you’re entering an establishment with a great history, culture, local cuisine, great service and an asset to the community. It’s worth taking the walk from the city center [just a few minutes] to move away from the higher-priced cafes near the Harbour. The portion sizes are generous. I had one portion of sardines with mixed salad, and it was sufficient for two people. It came served with potatoes and of course all the extras [olives, bread, pate, etc] A half liter of decent wine for three euros was not extortionate. Highly recommended, and if I return to Setubal this will be the first place on my list of visit.
O Quintal<br/ <br/ Rainy mornings are best spent indoors, under warm fleece blankets and having a good movie airing. Add some hot chocolate with marshmallows or a hot bowl of lobster bisque to the equation and you’d have the perfect formula for a chilly, rainy morning. However, on a particular one I had to go run errands around town, leaving me little time to be able to prepare breakfast. Luckily, cafés are everywhere in the city so I made a quick stop at one that was right along the way – O Quintal.<br/ <br/ Upon entering, I was welcomed warmly. And by this I mean the staff were hospitable and that the café was literally warm; it was, at the time, a safe haven, an escape from the icy air and the mean rain outside. It also made me feel as if I was seated in front of a fireplace on a snowy winter morning. Anyway, as I wanted light bites and a cup of coffee, I got myself a sausage in a puff pastry, two pasteis de bacalhau and a cup of coffee. I looove the pastel the bacalhau – not only was it huge, it was also delightful and still toasty. The sausage in a puff pastry could’ve used a little more crunch, but other than that I thought it was definitely filling. The coffee, as usual, didn’t fail to be lovable.<br/ <br/ All in all, this breakfast experience was a nice twist from my usual day-to-day routine. The café was an extension to a restaurant of the same name and owner, and it caters to special occasions. With what I’ve tried so far, I am looking forward to being treated to a pleasurable meal at the restaurant proper.<br/
Espaço muito agradável, preço acessível, uma ótima comunicação e muita simpatia com os clientes, e um preço excelente. Os secretos de porco preto são sem dúvida de chorar por mais! Recomendo!
