Osteria Mattana - SESTRI LEVANTE

Tutto ottimo. Abbiamo diviso in due un'ottima farinata, poi abbiamo mangiato ottimi spiedini alla brace e salsiccia con cannellini. Carne eccezionale, un piatto abbondante, buono e di qualità. Ci è dispiaciuto non riuscire ad assaggiare il dolce perché troppo pieni...

Tornati dopo anni con amici, non ci ha fatto sfigurare. Ottima la farinata così come le trenette al pesto. Ambiente semplice, personale gentile ed efficiente, servizio veloce. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Rimane sempre il Top per Sestri Levante.

Say no more! loved this place, visited twice during our stay to dinner, shared tables with Italian families and couples. it is unpretentious, tasty eating and the atmosphere feels very authentic. our favourite dishes were grilled meeresbass and sea roasts, vitello tonnato and the best Pesto...pasta ever! there are large house wine at the karaffe. you can't book and the people have fucked themselves to get a table. alla prossima!

Today I really doubted the reliability of the reviews of tripadvisor. some friends recommended osteria mattana and routnely, I checked the place on tripadvisor. I was quite amazed when I learned that this osteria was only on the 44th place in sestri levante, but the...restaurant we were yesterday la sciamadda dei vinaccieri ballerini was much better on place 4....La sciamadda was ok, service was friendly, but hectic and quite inexperienced, eating was neither outstanding nor unique, but simply good. but what we had today at osteria mattana is a completely different story: great, attentive service and excellent eating was the tarta di mele a dream, as the pulp from the grill. Remember, places that are less efficient to ask their customers to choose and write reviews may not be worse than the more PR savy.

It seems this wonderful osteria was a well-known secret from the pandemic, and for us is one of the main reasons to visit sestri! so when sitting inside was not a problem, it was quite difficult to find a place here. that have changed a little. so, this little memory do not miss the most likely best restaurant in sestri. eating is very original (just claiming that they don't like frinata after they tried it here) the prices are very reasonable. for meat steak lovers certainly also a recommendation. but we didn't try anything we didn't like and the atmosphere. it is more on the casual side and they can share a (long) table with others. we love it! we also never had a problem with the service (but we also understand that if a place is packed, it can take a little longer.) .and only for reference, we stay in the rule in sestri in one of the more expensive hotels, so our decision to come here is based exclusively on food quality atmosphere. if they are in sestri, it is a place they should not miss.
