Talschlusshuette - Sesto

Totally unexpected and delightful surprise ! a gourmet lunch in a mountain cottage and while this is not a rarity in Dolomites, you should make time for this place if you are ever in the surroundings.

We know already the Fiscalina valley which is known as one the most beautiful of the Dolomites, but we never stopped to this nice chalet in the middle of it. This time we did it twice in a a couple of days both during the day and at night on the occasion lf a special music night. In both occasion we really appreaciate the cozy atmosphere, the nice decoration and the friendly attitude of the people. A real small jewel in a wonderfull valley.

I had an excellent climber’s pan with half a litre of the house white wine, it was excellent, a Hugo cocktail to start with. They also offer lots of beers, although none home brewed, and even the choice of puddings is satisfying. Medium to high prices.

This place is your ideal base to explore Sesto Dolomites from Val Fiscalina. Food here is pretty good. The ambience of indoor area is cosy whereas the outdoor seating is fantastic with great views of magnificent mountains. It's wonderful to have lunch and coffee here after hiking. It takes about 40 minutes if you walk here from Moos, about an hour if you're from Sesto.

Ritorno a distanza di tempo, dopo una piacevole e classica passeggiata in Val Fiscalina che porta al locale ma...momento particolare con tavoli occupati da avventori già a fine pranzo o ancora a desinare, quindi si attende sulle panche libere e dopo mezz'ora di attesa con sorpresa si viene invitati a uscire dallo steccato che delimita il locale ed a mettersi in coda...dopo gli ultimi arrivati,bye bye fondovalle e altri km per mangiare... E se un' anziano non può aspettare in piedi? Portatevi i panini da casa!
