Regency - Selby

I made a reservation for a Saturday evening at this restaurant the day before. The telephone communication could have been improved, as it was a bit abrupt and insisted on cash only several times. They also emphasized not leaving any food on the plate, as it would result in being charged and not served any more food. The only available time was 6pm, but upon arrival, we were the only guests. A couple more tables were occupied during our time there. The waiting staff was excellent, very polite and helpful, and they even pointed out some dishes we were unfamiliar with. They were proactive in clearing empty plates to prevent the table from becoming cluttered. The food was delicious, and we opted for the all-you-can-eat menu priced at £23.99 each, which is standard for a Saturday night. The portions were generous and served hot straight from the kitchen.

I recently had a takeaway experience at this restaurant. I ordered hot and sour soup, 1/4 duck, king prawn curry, and plain boiled rice. The hot and sour soup was decent, with the right amount of heat and crunchy vegetables, but the meat and prawns were very chewy and tough. The 1/4 duck was disappointing, as it was mostly scraps that were dry and hard to swallow. The leeks and cucumbers were dried out, and the hoisin sauce lacked flavor. The curry sauce also tasted bland and artificial. I was surprised to find large mushrooms in the king prawn curry, which I did not enjoy. The prawns were the only highlight, being juicy and succulent, but there were only a few in the dish. The plain boiled rice was okay. Overall, I found the meal to be barely edible and overpriced at £29.90 for one person (including £3.00 delivery). Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this restaurant anytime soon.

We ordered starters, Knaller mains. the ordering process was so easy on the app. the delivery exceeded our expectations early. the delivery driver was perfectly matched to all COVID measures. now to eat. armed torte hot, the order was complete. our dishes were so delicious, generous portions really delicious. everything was water. I would definitely recommend, we will definitely reorder, great value ratio. Thank you.

I recently visited a few Chinese restaurants in Selby that were disappointing - the food was dry and bland. However, I discovered this gem about six months ago. The food is delicious, comes out hot and packed with fresh vegetables. I recommend trying the salt and pepper chicken - it's a must-have. Finally, I can enjoy a proper Chinese meal.

Had a takeaway for me and hubby waited a long time until it was delivered and eating lukewarm when it arrived. hubby left most of his meals said it was terrible my was ok, but there is not much they can raise...with mushroom fried rice, the curry sauce found quite hot, but with little taste
