Pho Kien Giang - Sechelt

Wanted to try this place for a long time. Friends finally suggested it one day and away we went. The lady running it is very friendly but not heaps of help with a poorly constructed menu. I had asked if the curry has vegetable along with the meat and when she said carrot...she literally must of meant one slice lol. Vietnamese food is a fav and this place was very disappointing. Both the rice and rice noodles were cooked to death. Two friends were still hungry after having their lunch combos. Basically a large scoop of bland rice, one tiny brochetteof meat, large flavourless hand roll, and a heap a lettuce with tomato slice? Another buddy had a beef & vermicelli and added a salad roll. She said next time you order the one with salad roll included. Ah....good luck with that menu. At least he could chew his beef. The small bits of beef in my curry were so tough and some not edible. I paid extra to add over cooked veg to my dish....it was truly the worst meal I have ever had in a Vietnamese place. For a cheap bowl of soup and noodles....prob just fine...but I will never go back or recommend it. Too bad as I really was looking forward to this place.

So came here for lunch on a whimWas not too sure about having Vietnamese in SecheltI must say that the food exceeded all my expectations.

Very nice family owned and operated place. Nice people. Great Vietnam food for the coast. I would highly recommend you go to this place any day.
