Bidra med feedbackEDIT: This review is specific to a visit the week of 9.8.23Not sure what is going on with this place. Was previously a favorite hangout for myself and coworkers, but recently seems like it 's on a rather steep slide downhillHalf of the taps recently were gone (one screen was live, with a significantly reduced number of available draft beers). No paper menu or extended list was made available, and bartender appeared not to hear when we mentioned the tap menu seemed smaller than usual.Service is hugely hit or miss; tall bearded gent is either in a terrible mood, or a great mood. Fruit flies are EVERYWHERE. 5-6 landed in my beer within the first 15 minutes or so, and after the aforementioned bartender removed them (with a straw, instead of just pouring and refilling to the same level), one actually landed in the glass as I was walking away from the bartop. There are dozens of breweries in WA that have zero issue with flies; why is a relatively upscale brewpub in DT Seattle seemingly unable to deal with them? Recommendation from bartender was that we just keep an extra coaster over our drinks. No clean coasters available, just beat up and heavily used, rather that not be directly on the drinking surface of a glass.Tipping system is also weird; why am I paying an extra corkage of $3-4 to drink a beer onsite, and then the system also recommends I tip the bartender for opening the can? What exactly is the service that I 'm tipping for?
I stopped in for an afternoon snack and got a chai latte. It was a dirty chai (not what I wanted) and was at Best lukewarm. I told the barista and she said that it should be hot and there wasn't anything she could do about it. We ordered a pretzel and it was cold too the touch as well.
Great beers, both in the fridges and on tap. And the good selection is a nice accompaniment too.
Want to give this place a five star because I love the concept, beer, and vibe. The guy that served our first beer was super friendly. The second guy, a larger guy, was a jerk. We were loving this place and he totally ruined it with his attitude.
I recently attended a happy hour with my team at TeKu Tavern, and I must say it was an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience. I would strongly advise against visiting this establishment due to the unprofessional behavior and appalling service we encountered.Upon arriving at the tavern, one of our teammates realized that he had forgotten his ID. This was an honest mistake, as we are all responsible adults in our late 20s and early 30s. To ensure that he wouldn't be left out, one of our team members kindly ordered a drink for him. However, things took a turn for the worse when the bartender approached our table and inquired about the missing ID. Our teammate explained the situation, admitting his mistake. Instead of handling the situation with understanding or offering alternative solutions, the bartender abruptly grabbed all the drinks and proceeded to yell at us, demanding that we leave. We were shocked and appalled by this unwarranted aggression. We had reserved a table and were simply trying to enjoy our evening. The fact that we had already paid for the drinks and food at the counter made the bartender's behavior even more outrageous. As we quickly gathered our belongings and prepared to leave, the bartender decided to add insult to injury by condescendingly reminding us that the direction of the exit. This unnecessary remark only further highlighted the utter lack of professionalism and common courtesy displayed by the staff at TeKu Tavern. To make matters worse, it's perplexing how a place with such abysmal service could have the audacity to request tips at the counter. The counter staff must have forgotten that gratuities are earned through customer service, not through belittling and mistreating customers.Overall, my experience at TeKu Tavern was nothing short of a nightmare. The unprofessional behavior, rude treatment, and complete disregard for customer satisfaction make it impossible for me to recommend this establishment to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and find another venue that actually values its customers.
