Bidra med feedbackI have been living in the valley for a few years now and had not yet tried this restaurant, even though I had heard good things about it. I went in wanting to try the pounded out veal chop parmigiana, but they were already sold out on a Monday evening. I also ordered a beefeater martini, but unfortunately, they were out of beefeater gin. I decided to try the clams linguini instead, but it was just okay, not great. The sauce was too thin for my liking. With so many other good Italian restaurants in the area, I expect them to have all items on their menu available.
Our server, Jennifer, was excellent and the restaurant itself was very cozy and cute. I thoroughly enjoyed my Mediterranean Salad and glass of Brut Rose - the food was very good. I particularly loved the extensive wine list at this establishment.
The food and service at this restaurant were amazing. We especially enjoyed the freshly made bread with dipping oil. The Calamari, Eggplant Parmesan, and Veal Chop were all delicious. The red wine and dessert were also very good. Sitting on the patio was a nice experience. This is definitely our favorite Italian restaurant in Scottsdale. The food is made fresh from scratch and you can taste the difference. Jennifer, the manager, provided excellent service.
Had high hopes about the quaint restaurant but our overall experience was disappointing. Our waitress, Shannon, did a great job. She was very friendly and prompt. When she had a little difficulty with the bottle of wine, we didn't care but the floor manager came over and made kind of an embarrassing scene. This type of instruction is better left to the back room, not at the table in front of the guests. That itself was not enough to spoil the evening and our appetizers (caprese and burrata) were very good but their hand made ravioli is way too large, way too doughy, and way too undercooked. The sauce it was prepared in was very good but overall, we left there saying we tried it, but we won't be back.
We often eat here but had a new server who was nice but a bit overbearing to the point of being disconcerting order a glass of wine he suggested you get a bottle (for which there was no financial advantage to the diner pushing appetizers, etc. It looked like there was a whole new staff with the exception of Juan and WHAT no more John??? He was an institution at NYB. We are bummed.
