Very friendly staff. I asked for a gluten free sandwhich which I got. Ben who brought the food over informed me that I had I had no crisp due to then not being gluten free Would definitely visit again
Four of us arrived for early lunch. We ordered a BLT on brown bread. Then we asked if they did a gluten free BLT. They did, so we ordered one, also on brown. It took three attempts to explain we were ordering a normal BLT and an ordinary BLT. She just wasn't listening, but she finally got the message. We then ordered a cheese and ham panini and a cheese panini. When the food came, she brought two ham and cheese panini and was very rude, insisting that was what we ordered. Why would we do that when one was for a VEGETARIAN? I accept anyone can make a mistake but to keep insisting that was what was ordered with a shake of head and roll of eyes was unacceptable. The order was eventually corrected but it was too late. LISTEN to your customers in the first place.
Went to this “cafe” this morning, my friend ordered off of the Gluten free menu, as her order arrived she realised there was butter on her toast, she kindly asked if she could have it without due to also being dairy free. The man who had “cooked” the breakfast tried to argue with her stating “everybody has butter on toast” he sighed and called her a stupid ****. Completely unacceptable, no apology and a lesson in customer service really is required. Very disappointed. My review on facebook and the response which is appalling. They have hidden the review.
I visit this coffee shop every time I go to Scarborough. Usually we just have a coffee and a cake. On our last visit we had a toasted sandwich and a drink. The food was nice although the salad which I think was added for a decoration, had lettuce that was going brown and piece of cucumber at least an eighth of an inch thick. Luckily we don't like salad so we left it On ordering the toasters sandwich we learn that we had to pay extra to have it toasted,an extra 65p each. It does state on the menu underneath the sandwiches that you have to pay extra for toasting but when you are looking it's quite easy to miss. I just feel toasted sandwiches should be listed separately as it is in most cafe's. it would be less confusing to an already busy menu. Plus people wouldn't get to the till and wonder why you're being charged extra
