Orient Express - Scarborough

I absolutely adore this restaurant. It has been a favorite of mine for years, with the food being delicious and flavorful. It is definitely one of the top places to eat in the GTA. Their knödel and traditional Lanzhou noodles are absolutely incredible, along with their chicken and broccoli.

The cost is $16, but there is very little meat present, and it is lamb. I was very disappointed. I had to gather all the meat in a corner to show just how little they gave me. It felt like they were cheating me. However, the meat was very tasty, but the portion size did not match the price.

It is quite uncommon to come across an authentic Chinese restaurant in Toronto that offers halal food. During the lockdown, we decided to try their traditional Lanzhou Beef Hand-Pulled Noodle Soup for takeout, and it was fantastic. However, when we dined in at the restaurant after the lockdown, it was even more amazing. The interior was clean and tidy, but the service was lacking. Despite multiple requests for utensils and water, they always seemed to forget. I believe that good service is just as crucial as enjoying delicious food when dining out. Hopefully, they will work on improving their service in the future.
