Bidra med feedbackGreat Romanian food, but also great for locals. You get help from the knowledgeable ladies and it's like a trip back home.
I am not sure what ingredients are used in their cakes or how fresh their cold cuts and spreads are, but every time we have eaten food from this establishment, we have become very ill. The vegetable (Zacusca) spread seemed old or poorly stored and had a bad taste. While some of the staff were friendly, others had a disrespectful attitude. It brought back memories of my time in communist Romania, where salespeople acted like they were superior beings and customers were treated poorly. This resemblance to the past is not a positive one, so I will not be returning to this store. I strongly advise against eating here.
I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for many years, starting at their old location and now at their larger store with more options. I have only tried a few of their dishes, but the ones I have tried are delicious and reasonably priced. One of my favorites is their house made 'zacusca', which is similar to ajvar from Eastern Europe but their version in the food fridge is the best. I also enjoy their baked beans and mashed beans with fried onion, garlic, and paprika. They offer a variety of other dishes such as meatball soup, cabbage soup, cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers, pickles, and tomato-flavored shredded sauerkraut. Their house made foods are my top picks, but they also have a selection of imported products on the shelves. I have never had any issues with the service and find that all the dishes (except the cheese) freeze well for later enjoyment. Overall, this store is an essential part of my food shopping routine and I highly recommend it.
This restaurant offers a variety of delicious Eastern European cuisine, gourmet products at affordable prices, cooked meals, baked goods, and desserts. It is a fantastic place to have a culinary experience with flavors from Eastern Europe. The menu includes dishes such as cabbage rolls, stuffed bell peppers, tuna salad with mayo, carp caviar, sultana pie, ajvar, smoked sardines, smoked mackerel, cakes, feta, Kashcaval, perogies, soups, tripe soup, cold cuts, kids' lunch items, herbal teas, deli canned goods, Ariel and Persil products, and more. This restaurant is a hidden gem with a wide selection of imported goodies.
We buy the excellent mineral sparkling watter Perla Harghitei chefir, cheeses of all kinds, Pick salami, gem and confiture, herbal tea...and the list does on and on. After the store was moved in January to this new location I can see a lot of improvement...in organizing the store and all the goodies I am used with from are always there and much more.
