Speed J - Saumur

The only local rival to McDonalds. The burgers are made-to-order rather than production-line ready, but mine was dry and flavorless, so you'd never know it was a custom burger. You can choose from a number of different sauces and condiments, however. Fries were ok, but not remarkable. Staff was a bit surly. They open rather late in the day, so not a real lunch option. And their prices are a bit high for the food quality, especially since you get fast food fare but not speedy service--my order took about 20 minutes, which would be fine if it had tasted like a custom burger, but it wasn't as good as McDonalds. Then again, they are located right on the main drag, so convenient if you're downtown.

A great little Burger Bar that prides itself on serving a Burger that tastes great in all its forms ie, Bacon Burger, cheese Burger etc. Gives the local McDonalds a run for its money !!

There aren 't many hamburger places in French towns, outside McDonalds (okay, not really French), so we were quite happy to find Speed J 's right around the corner in Saumur. Food is good, and reasonably priced. Rather than just one special sauce, they have 8 different sauces you can get added to your sandwich. Hamburgers aren 't production line, like McDonalds. Plus, Speed J 's is located just off the main velo path

5 ans sans y retourner car pas dans la région, quel bonheur de retrouver le roquefort, déco qui a bien changé plus au goût du jour. Le seul petit bémol l'accueil.

J'y ai commandé plusieurs plats à emporter et c'était plutôt bon pour un fast-food. La déco est moderne.
